The name Eastern Sky Wellness derives from a place of hope — the sun rises in the eastern sky, signaling a new day, new beginnings, and the chance for a fresh start. As Emily Dickinson wrote, “Hope is the thing with feathers, that perches in the soul, and sings the tune without the words, and never stops — at all.” Holding onto hope these days is not always easy, but even on the darkest days when having hope seems impossible, know that it will return again, stronger than ever, because that is part of being human. Without darkness, there is no light.
Eastern Sky Wellness provides accessible outpatient mental health services to adult residents of Maine. Whether you're seeking a medication consult, diagnostic clarification, or simply to understand more about caring for your mental health, I’m here to support your path to wellness. My approach is grounded in compassion and empathy and recognizes the uniqueness of each person’s experience — no matter who you are or where you’re from, you are welcome at Eastern Sky Wellness!
Accepting Aetna, Cigna, United, Point 32, Anthem/BCBS. All others are out of network (including Medicare and MaineCare) at this time. Sliding scale available, please ask.
* A special note for those using insurance: Insurance companies are increasingly seeking access to full psychiatric records of clients from healthcare providers and use AI. You have the option of not using insurance. Many plans now have nearly unreachable deductibles and out-of-pocket amounts and a self-pay route may be less costly depending on your coverage. Eastern Sky has always had a sliding scale and can work with you on payment options if you wish to opt out of insurance.

Do you accept insurance?
I accept Aetna, United, Optum, and Anthem/BCBS. For all other carriers, I am out of network, including Maine Care and Medicare. If I’m not in network with your insurance I can provide a receipt for you to submit for possible reimbursement. For those without insurance or who prefer not to use insurance, cash is accepted via most major payment cards or HSA. I offer a sliding scale for those who might need it, please ask.
How do I make an appointment?
To schedule an initial appointment, it’s asked that you email julia@easternskywellness.com. You may also use the button “Prospective Client Inquiry Form” on this website to fill out a short form with your basic demographics. It’s OK to call, but you will likely need to leave a voice message — please provide an email address when leaving a message.
Do you offer free phone consults before scheduling?
Yes! All prospective clients have a 20 minute phone consult at no cost or obligation. This allows me to learn a little more about what your seeking and for you to ask questions. If we determine that it’s a good fit, an appointment will be made at that time.
Do you offer in-office appointments or are you only online?
At this time all visits are online and there is no physical office space. Most of my new clients are preferring the convenience of home/online appointments and do well with this format. Contact me to discuss if online care is appropriate for your needs.
I’m a primary care provider — can you help my practice manage our patients with mental health conditions?
As a primary care provider, your time is truly of the essence these days. Many psychiatric conditions are relatively easy to manage by your team, but sometimes medications just don’t seem to work or there are other issues. Getting the diagnosis and treatment right can take a lengthy appointment with ongoing follow-ups. If a medication isn’t working and you’ve tried several and the response is the same or worse, it’s best to refer out. For patients on complex psychotropic regimens who don’t have a psychiatric provider, I can often help reduce polypharmacy. I enjoy collaborating with PCPs and am here to help you and your practice. Referrals are easy — send a secure fax to me at 207-261-4388; provide the reason for the request, current medication list, and your patient’s contact info including email.
